The red sandstone plaque on the wall of the Hall of Letham celebrates the bicentenary of Letham in 1988. The inscription reads: Mors Aut Vita Decora 1788 - LETHAM - 1988 founded by GEORGE DEMPSTER OF DUNNICHEN (1732-1818) "a true-blue Scot" Burns FEUARS COMMITTEE 5th July 1988
