New Cross Gate station

This station is the southern extremity of London Transport's East London line. This line is currently worked with A60 stock, originally introduced for the outer suburban Metropolitan Line in 1960. This scene will soon become history, for in December 2007 the East London line will close for some 2-3 years and when re-opened, will have been extended both southwards and northwards as part of the London Overground. New trains will be introduced, and the line re-named the 'East London Railway'.
