The early history of this fine cross is unknown. Its appearance suggests that it was originally set up in the 15th century as a town cross. Its square shaft is surmounted by a Latin cross. The Market Cross is a Category B Listed Building. https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/200351504-ormiston-main-street-market-cross-ormiston#.WbxM8TGWw5s
