An unusual subject for a Grade II listing, but in 1983 a long stretch of this slag-block wall on the south side of Waterloo Street was duly awarded such an accolade https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101207703-wall-of-slag-blocks-the-gorge#.Wbgw49QrLGg It represents good early recycling of industrial waste, if nothing else.
