Designed by Algermon Peckover, and built in 1854, as a meeting house for his family who were Quakers. Many of the Peckover family who lived in nearby Bank House (now called Peckover House) are buried in a small graveyard at the rear, see https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5534186
