This monument to the men and women of the fire and rescue services and the civil defence service who lost their lives in the Second World War was unveiled in 2013 by HRH The Princess Royal. Beyond the railings on the north side of the churchyard is Kayes Walk, a narrow passage lined with tall lace warehouses.
