On the Broadland Business Park. The masterplan for this 45-acre site in Thorpe St Andrew on the north-eastern edge of Norwich has been largely developed with LSI (Architects LLP)-designed buildings, with the 25% plot cover and the landscaping and rainwater collection strategy having helped to increase the site’s biodiversity. The landscaping is designed to integrate the developments within the existing landscape whilst introducing flora and fauna hoping that it will attract native species, and encourage the establishment of a variety of habitats. A tree survey is also carried out annually. Considerable effort has apparently been taken to encourage a diverse habitat, evident by the installation of bat, bird and owl boxes around the park and in addition to the birds and mammals frequenting the lake, there is also a plethora of insects, including damselflies and dragonflies.
