Late Victorian terraced housing built for railway workers. On the left is The Leeman, a pub dating from around 1886. The pub name is commemorates George Leeman (1809-82), a local lawyer and chairman of the York, Newcastle and Berwick Railway and later of the North Eastern Railway, and Liberal MP for York for a period in both the 1860s and 1870s.
