The house on the left appears to be called Ecoley Cottage (according to a very faint sign) and looks as though it may perhaps have been a school at some time. The owner in 2007, John Corner writes "It was originally a primary school built in 1874 and converted at some time to a dwelling having been a dance hall and reading room in the past. The building originally had a bell tower but the whereabouts of the bell is unknown."
