Looking SW from Adam Bridge. Compton Verney is a Grade 1 listed mansion house designed in the 1760s by Robert Adam. It is set in more than 120 acres of classical parkland which was landscaped by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown between 1769 and 1772. The estate was bought in 1993 by the Peter Moores Foundation when the house and grounds were in a state of decay. The Compton Verney House Trust was established to transform the mansion into an art gallery.
