Essential a Victorian church following the rebuildings of the 19th century, leaving on the early 13th century tower and chancel arch in place. In compensation, the Victorian work includes contributions from two of the most renowned church restoration architects of the period, George Gilbert Scott Snr and William Butterfield. The former added the north aisle and the latter the south aisle and clerestory. Chancel and spire date from 1825 and 1830 respectively. Listed Grade II*.
