Vendors at traffic lights or other places where queues of slow-moving traffic build up, along with squeegee merchants, are people I tend to associate with the 1980s and 1990s: this was the first I'd seen for some years. The trade probably correlates with indices of economic hardship. In this instance he was selling flowers and assorted drinks. The trees along the side of the road mark the line of a tributary to Pymmes Brook.
