A small station on the Stafford and Uttoxeter Railway, later part of the Great Northern Railway. The older building is the former station house. The line was single track and ran on an embankment and bridge to cross the lane in the foreground. The station had a single platform next to the house and not even a siding for goods traffic. Old maps suggest that there was a goods platform and shed on the right hand side of the line. Passenger services on the line, already reduced to one train per day, were suspended in December 1939 and never resumed, although freight traffic continued until 1951.
