Operated by the Scottish Field Studies Association, until the Field Studies Council took over the running of the centre in 2002. It is an ideal spot for field courses, which range from the study of butterflies to bats, and sphagnum to stars! The building dates from the early 19th century, and is Category B listed [http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB47629].
