Dwellings at Nos.8 & 6 Silver Street, Hollingsworth Cottage and Hollingsworth House respectively. Datestone 'W A E 1700'. Houses in the village would have been built largely of limestone with thatched roofs, brick not appearing until the early 18th century. It is possible that Hollingsworth House was the earliest brick house in the village. A bricklayer is referred to in a will of 1705.
