Llanymynech is a village about 9 miles north of the town of Welshpool. It straddles Wales, and England with the border running for the most part down the centre of the village's main street; the eastern half of the village lies in England and the western half is in Wales. The village name Llanymynech is Welsh for "Church of the Monks".
