Coombe Lodge from Menlea

This impressive estate was commissioned and owned by the Wills tobacco family. It was built from 1928 and the family occupied it for around thirty years. It was designed by the distinguished architect Sir George Oatley and is an E-shaped Jacobean style home built with Bath stone and Cotswold stone roofing. It actually occupies a site that was once an earlier house dating from 1759; the grounds were extended and now the Lodge is a conference and wedding venue.
