Constructed during the blossoming of the Victorian phase of Non-Conformism this chapel was built as a meeting place for a expanding local Plymouth Brethren group. The chapel was built in 1882 following a successful tent mission on a nearby site. Its front elevation is on Bellevue Road but it was extended in 1887 with the addition of a long intercommunicating corridor connecting it to a back entrance on Cambridge Street. It appears to have been converted into residential accommodation.
