A rather fine, early 18th Century stone and brick residence, which was given a Grade II listing https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101033293-bank-house-oakengates#.WY2_hNQrLGg and https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1033293 in 1983. The right-hand end is a later addition, but very much in keeping with the original, which dates from 1721. It was the home of the ironmasters and industrialists Richard Reynolds https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Reynolds_(ironmaster) and his son William https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Reynolds_(industrialist) from 1758 until the turn of the century.
