Victorian timberwork hides the 17th century origin of the centre portion. The left hand four storey block, formerly a bank, dates from the 1740s, the right hand building, by T.H. Wyatt, was built as the County Club in 1877. Recently re-opened after concerns about the safety of the frontage, this is a part of the Wetherspoon empire.
