The main building in view here, wrapping around the corner of Old Fore Street and The Esplanade, is The Mocha. A blue plaque on the wall describes it as starting life in the 18th Century as a thatched 'shed', which morphed over the years into progressively more substantial buildings, and became Sidmouth's library in 1809, retaining the local name of The Shed. It now has a Grade II listing https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101215960-mocha-cafe-sidmouth granted in 1973, the listing text describes the whole building in some detail.
