Grade II Listed, the building carries a date of 1553. The current owners describe it as having been a coaching Inn, a pork butchers and then in the 1930's restored and converted into a private residence but artist Rosa Ellen Tapp is reported to have been living here in 1924. I can find no evidence of an inn recorded here although the adjacent No. 20 prior to 1881 was the Castle Inn and to the rear is Ye Old Bell and Steelyard. No.22 is now a home and office space.
