The first bandstand was completed in August 1900 and the railway works band performed for the public. In 1909 a new bandstand was erected but the roof was not added till 1923. Lighting was added in 1925 (https://www.eastleigh.gov.uk/media/118353/MayorsTrail.pdf The Mayor’s Trail).
