An inscription on the back of this bench in Platt Fields Park reads: ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION TO THE MEMORY OF WILLIAM ROYLE OF RUSHOLME 1924 William Royle wrote a History of Rusholme in 1905, updated in 1914.
