The sign on the gate says "please close gate quietly". My immediate reaction is "why"? The nearest habitation is at least fifty metres away, and muffled by trees. Also, at this point the sound of the traffic on the M25 motorway is so strong and irritating that the rural sound of a gate slamming would be quite acceptable. (Perhaps they meant "do not slam - it weakens the gate".) Note the two tree stumps beyond used as a mounting block for horse riders.
