Stained glass window – 4. The four panels were originally installed in the offices of the Mapperley Colliery Company when they were built in 1922. When these closed, the panels were moved to the local National Coal Board headquarters at Eastwood. When these in turn closed, they were rescued for the village and placed in the church. Originally left free-standing as the then Vicar did not consider them appropriate in a modern church, they were later incorporated in the inner screen of the entrance vestibule. In practice they do not seem out of place. The illustrations are taken from a German treatise of 1556 and show mining techniques of the period.
