Sorbie Tower

Sorbie Tower is a ruined late 16th century tower house between Gorlieston and Sorbie. It was probably built by the Hannays, a powerful family in Wigtownshire in the 16th century. It was occupied by various people over many years but when the last resident left in 1748, the tower house was left to fall into ruins.
