There is a long tradition of fun fairs visiting the village green. In recent years some people have objected to the visits on the grounds of noise and pollution. A local survey in 2016 however showed a majority of respondents in favour of hosting an annual visit by the funfair. http://www.thedownrecorder.co.uk/pages/?title=Strangford_funfair_to_go_ahead_at_weekend
