Folkestone and Hythe District Council refused to grant planning permission under application number Y16/0439/SH for the “creation of [an] ex-servicemen's home comprising conversion of existing building, including erection of external stair core, and the erection of 5 houses with associated gardens, parking, and landscaping”. Planning permission was approved, with conditions, by Folkestone and Hythe District Council under application number Y07/0937/SH for the “change of use and conversion of the public house to student accommodation (Class C2) and the erection of a terrace of 4 dwellings”. However it appears that no work was ever started other than to erect new hoarding, as this image of the Image, photographed three years ago, shows.
