An original regality cross dating from 1694 disappeared without trace in 1766 following a procession in which the cross was carried. In 2015, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of Grantown, a new cross was made. The stone pillar came from the original war memorial at nearby Advie, which dated back to 1919 but was replaced by a new memorial. Grantown's new addition was unveiled in The Square in June 2015. It is now known as the Regality Cross because of its links with the old Burgh of Regality.
