The public house was built in 1881 and it is said when it opened it was known as the Railway Inn. It changed its name some time after 1938. The pub is now closed but may have been still operating in 2013 http://www.dover-kent.com/2016-project/Bridge-Inn-Lydd.html The estate agents Fleurets have affixed a for sale board to the frontage, which also indicates that the property is freehold.
