A very fine, mid 19th century brick house, given a Grade II listing https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101374358-prospect-house-the-gorge#.WWPpENQrLGg in 1983. Indicative of the fact that there was a lot of money being made (and spent) in the area in the glory days of the iron works and coal mining.
