Chairs in the bottom of the canal

The Rochdale Canal alongside Canal Street. The water has been drained revealing a lot of chairs and other debris. I thought at first it had been done as part of an annual maintenance procedure but have been informed that it was due to vandalism and it may be a while before the levels are restored.
