The Rochdale canal where it emerges from the Piccadilly tunnel. On the left is the side of the Holiday Inn built on the site of the former labour exchange and which opened in 2016. The water has been drained revealing a lot of pungent detritus. I thought at first it had been done as part of an annual maintenance procedure but have been informed that it was due to vandalism and it may be a while before the levels are restored.
