The tall building on the left is North Tower, a residential and hotel building standing only yards from the boundary of Salford and Manchester. Formerly known as Highland House, it was constructed in 1966 for the Inland Revenue (now H.M. Revenue and Customs). It is 260 feet tall and one of the tallest buildings in Salford. The building to the right is a block of service apartments.
