The prehistoric stone circles on Holyhead Mountain like many others along the Welsh coast are known as 'Cytiau'r Gwyddelod' or the 'Irishmen's Huts' possibly recalling a period of attempted colonisation by Irish sea raiders following the Roman withdrawal.
