Donisthorpe Mill next to the River Soar

Donisthorpe Mill gets its name from the textile company that previously owned it, Donisthorpe & Co. The company was set up by George Edmund Donisthorpe in 1739, the inventor of the first successful wool-combing machine. The site is currently undergoing the multi-million pound Friars Mill Regeneration Project.
