On North Cross Street. The pub bills itself as Gosport's oldest, dating from 1735, but the building looks solidly Victorian. Narrow frontage, but extending back the length of the building; bar left, with two drinking areas front, right and back. Darts, pool, jukebox, games machines, outdoor seating at the back. The front has a fine tiled facade advertising Long's Ales & Stouts, and glasswork for a former jug & bottle. Cask ale on offer at my visit: Tetley's Cask.
