Newton Green War Memorial is surrounded by a hedge which closely resembles the red, white and blue of the union flag at certain times of the year. The memorial bears 20 names on the men lost in WW1 and of one man lost in WW2. Fifteen of the names also appear in the church and can be seen here: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5438914
