This picture, taken from St Peter's Gate, reminds me that as a child I always looked for this glimpse of the Council House from the No 11 West Bridgford bus as it made its way to the terminus on South Parade. On either side of Bank Place are very grandiose Italianate buildings. The one on the left was originally the waterworks office and later a bank. To the right is the former County Court.
