Leitrim is a Nationalist village in the mainly Loyalist Banbridge District. The memorial set up in 2016 marks the centenary of the Easter Rising. Beneath a copy of the 1916 Proclamation of the Irish Republic are the words: "This memorial has been put in place by the local community to commemorate the men and women who gave their lives for Irish freedom."
