The valley of the River Dove. The River Dove at this location forms the boundary between the counties of Derbyshire to the east (left) and Staffordshire to the west (right). The hillside in the background with the light coloured limestone crags is Shining Tor in Derbyshire. This part of the Peak District is known as the White Peak due to its limestone geology and resulting light coloured rocks.
