Apart from having a great name, this ancient river crossing is an historic gem. Thought to be built around the seventeenth century, it has only seen foot traffic and was built for same - hence no parapets. Judging by older images, the wooden railings have been repaired properly now, along with a general clear-up of the vegetation.
