A rectangular-plan World War II cenotaph comprising raised platform with parapet walls to the north and west. The main focal point is the raised parapet wall which has a shield carved with the Scottish flag to left of its centre and the words 'PRO PATRIA' inscribed above the shield. To the left of the shield, there are two small copper panels bearing names together with a larger one to right. 'THOSE OF THIS CITY WHO DIED IN THE WORLD WAR 1939-1945' is carved into stone above and below the plaques. The memorial is Category C listed (Historic Scotland LB46922 http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB46922 ).
