On display on the Carlisle bound platform of Wigton station, this early photograph shows the original 1843 station building. This building, which was pulled-down in the 20th Century and replaced with a more modest structure, is believed to largely survive. The "Friends of Wigton Station" hope to reconstruct part of it at the station in the future. Current station facilities consist of two basic shelters. Original photographer unknown.
