Probably dating from circa 1841, it is not clear when the Station Hotel closed - although a photograph in "Old Aspatria" by Trevor Grahamslaw (Stenlake Publishing Limited) shows the victorious Aspatria RUFC team outside the hotel (complete with brass band) after winning the Cumberland Cup on 7 April 1909. Period OS Maps suggest the hotel ceased trading between 1969 and 1971. The building is now a private house with no public access.
