Grade I Listed church with 12th century origins with 14th and 15th century rebuilding and 1879 restoration. Records show that there was a chapel on this site in 1180. The stone font reputedly dates from around 1200, although the wooden font cover was added in 1879. Once in the heart of the village it is believed that it may have been a plague village in the 14th century, which would explain why the village appears to have moved away from the church to its present day position.
