Located in Smokehouse Yard, next door to Booths supermarket. The building had been in a dilapidated state for many years before being restored in 2007. Today it is once again in use as a smokehouse https://www.pappystexasbarbeque.co.uk/ . It is a Grade II listed building - for particulars see Images of England http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/details/default.aspx?id=75499 . The smoke house was built in the 1880s by a local grocery business, as part of a small meat factory. It was used for both air curing and smoking.
