The Woodpecker is located between Whitecross Road, Grimmer Road and Melrose Place. The sculpture is the work of sculptor Walenty Pytel, commissioned by H.P.Bulmer Ltd. The Woodpecker was unveiled by Peter Scott on July 11th 1969. The artwork was gifted to the City of Hereford by H.P.Bulmer Ltd in 2011.
