Northern Rail diesel unit 142 088 stands at platform 1 of Saltburn station, forming the 1357 departure to Bishop Auckland via Middlesbrough and Darlington. During the day, Saltburn is served by two trains an hour to and from Darlington; these extend beyond Darlington to Bishop Auckland approximately every two hours.
